Birthday party

I celebrated my birthday with my darling Ah Pek dealers in Penang this year......... The sweet darlings (ordered Tung) to get me a bday cake and even pretended to believe me when I said I was 22!!! HeHe!!!

After a mad week of travelling up and down the country, I finally managed to get home to celebrate the big day (1/2 hr rushed between meetings) with the family. Thought I could trick the boys into believing the 22 story, but they are much smarter than I thought!!!! No tricking them. Peng, watch out, EMs may get the wiser soon.

Operation Get Healthy

OK, here's the deal.......... OPERATION GET HEALTHY is on the way!!!!
1/ Eat right : Did some research and I think I should be targetting 1300-1500 calories per day (30% Carbs - complex carbs only; no white bread, no white rice, everything brown, bulga wheat & coucous. 20% Fat - no transfat, a little olive oil, dairy & cheeses. 50% protein - loadsa veggies, fruits & lentils, egg but 1/2 the yolk, tofu, white meat & fish, easy on the scavengers) It isn't like any of the programs I found on line, but I think it makes sense for me. (Any professional input here?))
Just scoffed down a plate of greasy malaysian mee siam though cos I saw some colleagues at it and it looked sooooooooooo good. It was actually quite disgusting. sigh. That was probably 300 calories of bad carbs!!! Yesterday was great though; we made a deliciously healthy couscous with garden veggies, grilled chicken drizzled with tomato/mushroom & mustard sauce.......... yummy. Kids say that they want to have couscous instead of unpolished brown rice (which is what I have been feeding them all week!) from now onwards.
2/ Exercise program : The plan was to do a 20min run + 1hr yoga every morning before work. Problem is I had to take kids swimming yesterday morning and had to rush them to school this morning (before starting work at 8.30am) !!! Waking up at 5.30am just to exercise is just tooooooooo painful. Anyway, we went for a family run last night (Well, Tim calls it the little trot, cos it really was very very short.) Tim did 2 full runs and a trot yesterday....... impressed? Sister Peng wants me to sign-up for the Great Eastern Ladies run but I don't think I will be up to it ....... Need to re-evaluate next week. If I can do 5km without keeling over by then, OK!!!
3/ Food for the spirit : This is the BEST part; Prayer & Meditation. Funny, but this used to be the most difficult for me..... I dreaded it @ yoga school and would fidget after 15mins. Now, I kindda drift into it and don't wanna come back. hehe. Experienced total bliss twice this week. Guess God is watching over me after all.
PS : The pic is to remind what I do not want to look like!

KIDS ARE HOME

The little angels are home.

After 2 weeks with the ex, they come back with blisters on their feet from walking on burning floors, bruised chins from running into walls, face covered in spots (Steph's baby face now feels like sand-paper!!!) and worst of worse...... Nic is on the super-highway to the land of the fat and obese!!!!!

Fireworks Putra Jaya

What an absolute nightmare!!!! This was without doubt one of the worst organised events I have ever been to.

1. Very far away

2. Traffic-> Police and event organisers did not know where to send us and directed us all over the place, into huge jams & onto 1 way streets going the wrong way!!! Now the real pain, was the 3 hrs it took us to get home because of the jams and the stupid malaysians that parked their cars in the middle of the highway and just left em there..... crazy!!!

3. Ticketing & Entry -> My dear friends Jasmin & Shannon were not allowed in because they had no tickets, but the tickets were with me and there was no need to have tickets to enter anyway, since there was ticket collection at the counter!!!! 2 hrs in a bloody traffic jam and they did not even get in!!! Sorry dears, bad idea on my part. Shannon, hope your mum wasn't too disappointed.

4. Phone reception -> Impossible to get network so I was not able to co-ordinate the tickets/ meeting places.

5. No food or drinks allowed-> There went our picnic idea!!!

6. Rain -> Well, this wasn't the organisers fault. We will check with God on that!

7. Price -> Tickets were priced at an atrocious 38.50MYR (child or adult!!). This was so you could go into the convention center, but what for? We saw the same thing as the 100,000 malaysians that saw it for free on the streets outside!!

8. Fireworks -> Very very weak......... saw much better elsewhere. The Malaysian finale was the WORST EVER!!! I was so embarrased for em.

9. Customer Service -> or the complete lack of if!!! Manager of the ticketing desk from Ticketpro Malaysia, Joanne Ong, just refused to get off her ass to do anything. Was really exasperating. I think she realised how bad she was cos she was so reluctant to give me her name........... shy??? embarrased??

CONCLUSION : Don't bother going.

ADVICE : If you have complains about the event, try contacting Alan Johnson from Global 2000 Sdn Bhd. They are the organisers. I will definitely be calling later today!! Tel 012-668 2571
