OK, here's the deal.......... OPERATION GET HEALTHY is on the way!!!!
1/ Eat right : Did some research and I think I should be targetting 1300-1500 calories per day (30% Carbs - complex carbs only; no white bread, no white rice, everything brown, bulga wheat & coucous. 20% Fat - no transfat, a little olive oil, dairy & cheeses. 50% protein - loadsa veggies, fruits & lentils, egg but 1/2 the yolk, tofu, white meat & fish, easy on the scavengers) It isn't like any of the programs I found on line, but I think it makes sense for me. (Any professional input here?))
Just scoffed down a plate of greasy malaysian mee siam though cos I saw some colleagues at it and it looked sooooooooooo good. It was actually quite disgusting. sigh. That was probably 300 calories of bad carbs!!! Yesterday was great though; we made a deliciously healthy couscous with garden veggies, grilled chicken drizzled with tomato/mushroom & mustard sauce.......... yummy. Kids say that they want to have couscous instead of unpolished brown rice (which is what I have been feeding them all week!) from now onwards.
2/ Exercise program : The plan was to do a 20min run + 1hr yoga every morning before work. Problem is I had to take kids swimming yesterday morning and had to rush them to school this morning (before starting work at 8.30am) !!! Waking up at 5.30am just to exercise is just tooooooooo painful. Anyway, we went for a family run last night (Well, Tim calls it the little trot, cos it really was very very short.) Tim did 2 full runs and a trot yesterday....... impressed? Sister Peng wants me to sign-up for the Great Eastern Ladies run but I don't think I will be up to it ....... Need to re-evaluate next week. If I can do 5km without keeling over by then, OK!!!
3/ Food for the spirit : This is the BEST part; Prayer & Meditation. Funny, but this used to be the most difficult for me..... I dreaded it @ yoga school and would fidget after 15mins. Now, I kindda drift into it and don't wanna come back. hehe. Experienced total bliss twice this week. Guess God is watching over me after all.
PS : The pic is to remind what I do not want to look like!

Since you are so inspired by my tri... start with the GE run! :D If you want,... you can also join Paul in the Corporate Tri in Nov. If that is too soon, then you can work towards the OSIM tri in Jul next year.... that should leave you plenty of time to prepare!!! No excuse!
